Reflux (Valve Insufficiency) Analysis
Objective measurement of the direction and duration of venous blood flow to determine the presence and degree of valve reflux.
What Is Venous Reflux?
Venous reflux is the backward leakage of blood down the leg that occurs when the venous valves can no longer do their job properly. It is the primary cause of varicose vein formation.
How Is It Assessed with Ultrasound?
During the Doppler ultrasound, special maneuvers are applied to measure the direction and duration of blood flow. The presence and degree of reflux are determined objectively.
Why Is It Important?
An accurate treatment plan is only possible when the vein segment affected by reflux is correctly identified.
At our clinic in Bakırköy, ultrasound and Doppler examinations are performed by Dr. Ahsen Bakan for patients from Istanbul, from other cities across Turkey, and from abroad.
