Breast ultrasound is performed not only to search for a mass, but to assess the breast tissue as a whole. The findings are interpreted together with the patient's age, complaints, and previous imaging.
What Is Assessed?

- ◆Axillary (underarm) lymph nodes
When Is It Performed?
- ◆A palpable breast lump
- ◆Pain or tenderness
- ◆For screening purposes
- ◆When additional evaluation is needed after mammography
How Is the Examination Performed?
The patient is examined lying on their back. The entire breast tissue is scanned systematically, and targeted evaluation is performed when needed.
